A modern take on an old coastal art form.
These handmade statement earrings feature miniature gyotaku-style fish prints sealed beneath a glossy layer of high quality resin. Originally developed in 19th century Japan, gyotaku was a traditional method used by fishermen to record their catches by transferring ink impressions of fish onto paper or cloth — blending documentation with artistry in a beautifully imperfect way.
I wanted to create fish earrings that felt artistic, coastal, and a little unexpected — something trend-inspired, but still deeply connected to my own love of the sea and handmade craftsmanship. The result is a bold yet wearable pair of earrings that feels equal parts vintage curiosity and modern seaside statement.
Each pair is handcrafted and one of a kind, with subtle variations that make them uniquely yours.
- Handmade with gyotaku-inspired fish imagery
- Sealed with high quality resin for durability and shine
- Lightweight statement design
- Approximately 3” top to bottom
- Due to the handmade nature, slight variations may occur
For the sea lover, the collector, and the woman who prefers her jewelry with a story.
